Eclipse

Countless hours went into the creation of this heavily embroidered quilt whose visually stunning theme of fire and ice erupts off the batik fabric like the sun eclipsing a frozen heavenly body.   Like the fiery sun rising over a whimsically decorated planet the orange fabric appears to flare around the circumference of the swirls and twirls of the embroidered face of the icy blue sphere. Photos simply do not do the vibrant colors or the enormous amount of embroidery justice.   8"x8" fabric blocks were embroidered then sewn together to create this quilted mural which is framed in navy sashing and binding.  The back of the quilt is also visually striking, boasting a bright batik with an intense flame print.

This work of art can easily be featured on a wall using the hanging sleeve in has sewn on the back. Alternatively, a delightful weight for a coverlet and a gorgeous decoration, it  measures approximately 71"x71", and will fit the top of a king size bed as an adornment like none other!

Laundering:   Please try to avoid washing this quilt.   The colors may bleed and the fabric may fray and shrink. If it must be washed, I recommend hand washing in a delicate detergent or in a machine on gentile setting with cold water and a color absorbing sheet.  Hang dry.
